Input sensing, haptics, and sound in a single actuator component

Instant signal input and quantitative measurement data for module and set developers

Next generation actuators defined by NECS

NECS Actuator is an RMA(Repulsive Magnetic Actuator), a repulsive magnetic-type actuator. It delivers input sensing, haptics, and sound by utilizing the magnetic field and repulsive force generated between two magnets of the same polarity facing each other. By leveraging highly sensitive changes in the magnetic field, it can produce delicate and diverse tactile feedback and audio.

Complete kit for development

NECS provides complete kits for development.

NECS provides development tools for haptic and audio engineers. It offers Development Kit 1 and Development Kit 2, which enable users to create and input single pulses, burst signals, sine waves, and composite audio playback files across the 40 Hz to 20,000 Hz range. It also provides a G-Force Measurement Kit (Development Kit 3), which measures in real time the vibration output generated by the attached module or set according to the input signal delivered to the actuator, allowing the results to be viewed as both data and graphs.

With NECS Development Kits 1, 2, and 3, it is possible to evaluate not only the emotional and qualitative haptic and audio performance perceived through the fingers and ears, but also the quantitative performance and results through numerical data and graphs.

On all devices requiring haptics and sound

The NECS RMA inherently features input sensing capability, eliminating the need for a separate touch sensor or pressure sensor for haptic and sound feedback. Despite its compact size, it can generate powerful vibrations, and because there is no physical connection, such as a spring, between the signal input magnet and the output magnet, it enables delicate tactile sensations and audio to be realized using only the repulsive and attractive forces generated by the magnetic field.

It can be applied to all devices requiring haptics or sound, including kitchen appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, stoves, and dishwashers, as well as various electronic products, automobiles such as steering wheels, AVNs, toggle switches, and door buttons, wall pads, bathroom bidets, and water purifier buttons.
